Bach's Solo Violin Phase

Bach’s 6 Sonatas and Partitas are the literal bread and butter of violin. There’s no violin without them! We would cease to exist!! 

Bach (probably) wrote these to use as practice material for his violin students, and they have been used that way ever since. But these aren’t like your regular etudes; to master them you have to be creative and emotional ON TOP of being technically proficient. 

Violinist Augustin Hadelich says it best:

Like Hadelich said, Bach is regarded as this serious and rigid composer, but I hope you’re starting to realize that he’s so much more than that.
